If you are just now investigating home business ideas, you may come across home business “review” sites that purport to provide you with unbiased reviews of companies and gurus.
I came across several sites over the weekend, as I was doing some research for a client. Both would have you believe they were home business review sites. But, a closer inspection found the following.
- None of the companies reviewed got very good marks.
- Each listing ended with the statement, “After testing Thousands of opportunities Only One still provides a Rock Solid income. Click here to go to that site.”
- Both of the sites were owned by the same person.
- You are referred to a site which starts with the statement, “You get paid even if you fail with this system! (Note: This is a definite red flag.)
- The website you are referred to sells a $19.95 product….which I would imagine is just the beginning of the sales funnel.
I did a search on the the “author” of this product and noted several articles tying him to scams.
My issue in this article is to simply caution you about taking everything at face value. This tactic is used quite often.
For instance, there is another review website that does much the same, although they sell a physically delivered home study course. Part of their offer is the ability to talk with a coach for 30 minutes. A few years ago, I became good friends with one of the supposed coaches. In actuality, the author was using his review site (and course) to backend people into a network marketing company. His downline paid $25 each for leads….who were the purchasers of this home study course.
So, while people thought they were getting true, impartial, unbiased value from their 30 minutes with a coach, they were actually being strong armed into a network marketing company.
There’s nothing wrong with someone being affiliated with a company. I make no bones about the fact that I’ve been with FFSI for almost five years and feel it is a great company.
However, that does not preclude the fact that there are many good companies. To mislead people by badmouthing every company but yours is unconsciounable.
Such people do NOT have your best interests at heart. Please be careful.
